When you're finished using your Seagate Backup Plus on your Mac you need to tell your Mac. This is because your Mac holds information for the drive in memory. Just in case you ask for it again.

Ejecting tells your Mac to write anything it has for the drive in memory down to it.

And stops you from corrupting your files on the Backup Plus. You eject the drive from your Mac by right clicking on the drive icon on your desktop.

Then you select Eject from the right click menu.

Can you see it? If not you may be unlucky and have a corrupted drive.
